Family Photos

Took the opportunity yesterday to get some family photos. If you get the chance check out Awkward Family Photos for some really bad portraits...

The boys....

The days and nights are passing by. These first days are intense and both Van and Kai are adapting and changing at a phenomenal rate (as are Vince and I, I guess?). Anyway, here are some pics...

Kai David Poke...

Hello all, a quick post to let you all know that Kai David Poke was born 18 June 2010, 6:33pm. He weighed in at 3850g (8lbs8oz) and measured 54cm in length.
Kai is: Maori for food or eat, Japanese for ocean or sea, Burmese for strong, Mandarin for victory or triumphant, and Nigerian for love. David is his grandfather's name.
He was either 8 days late or spot on time, depending on which prediction you go by. Regardless, he was booked in to be induced today, but got his act together and made his own way out yesterday. It was a natural (and incidently, a water) birth with the Community Midwife Program. We went into the Birthing Centre and Kai was born about 2 hours later (although it felt like LONGER!). I managed to make it through drug free, although sustained a few stitches this time round. We were all home before 11pm last night. All is well thus far.

Visit from Granddad

A couple of weeks ago Granddad came up for a week to visit us in Darwin. In between fine-tuning our cars, we managed to get out and about - taking Vance around the place and giving a pregnant Jodi a few breaks.

World Cup Fever

Dad recently started taking Van across the road to the school oval to kick the soccer ball around. He can kick and dribble the ball pretty well for a 3 year old. Don't worry footy and rugby fans - pointy ended balls will follow!
